The Big Dipper (A Sky & Telescope Story)

Hey, everyone,

Just a quick programming note and a speck of self-promotion.

Did you know you can use the Big Dipper, or the Plough, if you prefer, as a jumping-off point for ports-of-call all over the sky? Thanks to Sky & Telescope for running this web article I did about a bunch of things you use the Dipper to find. I hope you’ll check it out and I hope you like it!

    1. Oh, thanks, Jon. Yeah… I’m amazed that they like my stuff enough to work with me, it’s a dream come true and a real honor and pleasure to work with them. You should think about pitching them something if you have an idea.

  1. Nicely done. I love the way you make the sky so accessible and friendly!

Just so you don’t get dinged for this issue… the illustrator should update their star label for Alcor – it’s way off. It seems to be pointing at 83 Uma.

    1. Thanks, Dan. I’m glad you liked it.

I didn’t do the art on this one, and the editors over at the magazine already emailed me to tell me they knew there was a mistake. I’m sure they’ll take care of it as soon as they can.

      Stay safe!
