Hey, sky fans! April’s full moon, showing tomorrow might in a sky near you, is called the Pink Moon, thanks to the color of some of the early spring wildflowers that start to poke through the muddy grass this month. It’s also sometimes called the Fish Moon. Just as blue moons aren’t blue, the moon won’t turn pink tomorrow night, despite what a couple of websites want you to believe. Nor will it be covered in fish, though, I agree, that’d be pretty great. Also since every April has a full moon, and every April full moon’s nickname is the Pink Moon, they’re not particularly rare either (they’re 8.3% of all full moons). Enjoy the show, please keep your cell phone dark and quiet, and clear skies everyone!
